How this content is made
Financial education is only worth reading if you can tell where the numbers came from. These are the rules every guide, video and calculator is written against.
Accuracy comes before everything
No statistic, study or quote is ever invented. If a figure appears on this site it was either computed from assumptions stated on the same page, or taken from a named public source. Where something is genuinely uncertain, it is described as uncertain rather than presented as fact.
Sources
Factual claims are checked against primary sources: the IRS, the SEC and Investor.gov, the Federal Reserve, the CFPB, FINRA and the FDIC. Rules and figures change every year, so guides point you to the source rather than freezing a number in place. The resources page lists all of them.
Assumptions are always visible
Any projection depends on assumptions — a return rate, an inflation rate, a time horizon. Those assumptions are printed next to the result, and the calculators let you change every one of them. A number you cannot interrogate is not education.
What is deliberately excluded
- Personalized financial, investment, tax or legal advice
- Buy, sell or hold recommendations, and price predictions
- Guaranteed or implied returns
- Speculative trading content, including day trading and leverage strategies
- Political opinion
- Paid placements dressed up as education
Tone
The goal is a patient teacher, not an influencer: calm, plain English, no urgency, no fear, no hype. If a headline would work better as clickbait, it is written the other way.
Corrections
Mistakes get made. When one is found, the page is fixed and the update date changes. If the correction is material — a wrong figure rather than a typo — it is noted on the page. Please report anything that looks wrong; it genuinely helps.
Authorship
